Course One

Basic Level 1 Fall Protection Orientation.

Note: National Exterior Access is pleased to provide certified refresher training as required.

Basic Level 1 Fall Protection Orientation

• Designed For: Managers, Supervisors, and Workers concerned about fall hazards.

• Prerequisites: None.

• Language Requirement: Basic English comprehension.

• Duration: 3 to 3 ½ hours.

• Location: 6989 Merritt Avenue, Burnaby, BC.

• Topics Covered: Recognition of fall hazards and prevention, safe worker fall protection equipment and procedures, and O.H.&S. Regulation Part 11.

• Details: Verbal instructions combined with hands-on experience, followed by a Comprehension Assessment Test.

• Certification Validity: Wallet certification card valid for 3 years.

Course 1:

CSA Compliant Swing Stage Operator / Occupant Orientation

• Designed For: All operators and occupants working on a swing stage.

• Prerequisites: Current Fall Protection Certification (Course 1).

• Language Requirement: Basic English comprehension.

• Duration: 3 to 3 ½ hours.

• Location: 6989 Merritt Avenue, Burnaby, BC.

• Topics Covered: Comprehensive instruction meeting CSA Standards Z91-17 Section 4.1 through 4.4.2, including: swing stage work hazards, daily equipment inspection, stage hoist testing, safe work procedures, and mandatory worksite documentation.

• Details: Includes a hands-on component for testing and inspection. Students are required to successfully pass a test at the conclusion of the training to receive their certification card.

• Certification Validity: Wallet certification card valid for 3 years.

Course 2:

CSA Compliant Basic Swing Stage System Rigger Competency Course

• Designed For: Experienced installers and riggers managing system assembly and compliance.

• Prerequisites:

  1. Current Fall Protection Certification (Course 1).

  2. Successfully completed Course 2.

  3. Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with swing stages.

• Language Requirement: Basic English comprehension.

• Duration: One full day (Approximately 8 hours).

• Location: 6989 Merritt Avenue, Burnaby, BC.

• Topics Covered: Advanced training meeting all CSA Standards Z91-17 Section 4.5 to 4.5.2 requirements, providing technical knowledge to inspect, erect and dismantle basic swing stage systems.

• Details: Extensive hands-on training and testing components. Successful completion of the final evaluation is mandatory to receive the rigger competency card. The maximum class size is 10 students; lunch and coffee are provided.

• Certification Validity: Wallet certification card valid for 3 years, plus a training reference manual.
